SEC on CBS Leads Network to 2007 Ratings Gain

New York (Dec 6, 2007) - CBS Sports earned a ratings national title for its 12 weeks of regular-season coverage of college football in 2007, highlighted by "The SEC on CBS." The average national household rating/share for the season was a 3.5/8, +13% from a 3.1/7 last year. This 3.5/8 marks the best college football season average for the Network since a 3.7/10 in 1999.

CBS Sports earned a ratings national title for its 12 weeks of regular-season coverage of college football in 2007, highlighted by "The SEC on CBS." The average national household rating/share for the season was a 3.5/8, +13% from a 3.1/7 last year. This 3.5/8 marks the best college football season average for the Network since a 3.7/10 in 1999.

CBS Sports was the only network to show a ratings gain for coverage of college football for the 2007 season.

The season was capped off by national coverage of the SEC Championship game between Tennessee and LSU on Saturday, Dec. 1 (4-7:49 p.m., ET), which earned a national household rating/share of 5.9/12, +31% from last year’s 4.5/8 for the SEC Championship featuring Florida and Arkansas.

The 5.9/12 was the best rating for the SEC Championship game since the 2001 primetime game on CBS, which earned a 7.9/15 rating/share for Tennessee-LSU.
