Talent Profile - Troy West, Sideline Reporter, Sports USA Radio Network
Athens, GA (Dec 14, 2007) - Troy West is a Sideline Reporter for the Sports USA Radio Network. This is his profile as published by the network.
Troy West has been with the Sports USA Radio Network since its inception in 1998, patrolling the sidelines in some of the biggest regular and post-season games each season. West is also the analyst for the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League. West's experience on the field, though, is not limited to broadcasting. An All-America in college, Troy was a linebacker and defensive back at Mt. San Antonio Junior College and USC, leading the Trojans in interceptions in 1982 while earning All Pac-10 honors.
An 8th round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1983, West played professionally in the NFL (also as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles) and the USFL. During his 3 year career with the L.A. Express (where he was a teammate of future Hall of Fame QB Steve Young), West set a league record that will never be broken--intercepting a pass in 5 consecutive games.
