Denver, CO (Apr 20, 2008) - World Championship Sports Network, Adidas and MarathonGuide.com will provide free April 21 the first-ever global webcast of the Boston Marathon. The web site did the same thing April 13 with the London Marathon.
The 112th edition of the marathon begins at 9:25 a.m. EST on Monday. The WCSN.com webcast will include commentary from running legend Bill Rodgers, who won the Boston and New York marathons four times each between 1975 and 1980.
The Boston Marathon is the second stop after London on the World Marathon Majors, a series offering a $1 million prize purse. WCSN.com plans coverage of the other marathons in the series: Berlin, Chicago and New York City.
More than 500,000 spectators are anticipated to be lining the route that leads to the finish line at Copley Square.
