Athens, GA (Jan 29, 2009) - Embattled Georgia men's basketball coach Dennis Felton is out. He joins former Alabama Coach Mark Gottfried as the second Southeastern Conference coach out of a job this week. Although the Felton-led Bulldogs had a miraculous run to last year's Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament, this year's team (9-11, 0-5 SEC) was performing at a level that can only be described as lackluster at best. Last night's huge 83-57 road loss to Florida (18-3, 5-1 SEC) sealed the deal. Felton's record in 5+ seasons at Georgia was 84-91 (26-59 SEC)

Associate Head Coach Pete Hermann has been named the interim head coach for the remainder of this season.
