Bobby Clampett Has a Future As A Psychic!

Athens, GA (Apr 19, 2009) - Bobby Clampett (-8), playing in only his second tournament this year, shot a four under par 68 today to finish tied for 13th at the Nationwide Tour's Athens Regional Foundation Classic. For a player who has never been to Athens or Jennings Mill Country Club in Bogart, that is a finish that he did not even expect (as he told Eye on Sports Media in an interview last Tuesday).

But something else happened Friday afternoon, as Eye on Sports Media grabbed Clampett to join radio station 960 the Ref for an interview during their live broadcast from the tournament.

During the interview, hosts Jeff Dantzler and Chris Brame asked Clampett what he thought the winning score be come Sunday. Without hesitation, Clampett said 14 under would be the winning number. Both Danztler and Brame thought he was being way too conservative given what the leaderboard showed that afternoon.

But Clampett held his ground given the playing conditions of the course and the strength of the field.

Well Patrick Sheehan has just birdied the 18th hole to force a playoff with Michael Sim. And the winning score? Fourteen under, just as Clampett predicted.

There is a reason Bobby Clampett is an outstanding analyst on CBS Sports golf team. And if ever leaves the booth, he can always set up shop as a golf psychic!
