The 2009 NFL Broadcast Assignments for Week 1
Ah football. The 2009 NFL season has finally arrived after a few weeks of broadcasts of meaningless pre-season games. But those games are meaningful for the broadcast and production teams as it helps them prepare and practice for the 17+ week grind that is the NFL season.
Fox Sports has shaken up their broadcast and production crews, sending former A-Team director Artie Kempner way down the food chain, while promoting Rich Russo to the big chair in the truck. Bob Stenner and Sandy Grossman, who have worked together for more than 40 years have also been split.
Over at CBS Sports, there is a bit more stability. The only big change this week is director Suzanne Smith working with producer Mark Wolff because Bob Mansbach is busy with the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. Smith and Mansbach are back together next week.
Here is the week one broadcast schedule for the networks, which is of course subject to change. We would have had them up sooner, but we wanted to wait until The 506 finalized the format for links to their unofficial broadcast maps.
Fox has the doubleheader this week.
