Will The Media Ignore June Jones Classy Move?

Athens, GA (Nov 24, 2007) - I stayed up last night to catch the end of the Boise State - Hawaii game for the simple reason to see Quarterback Colt Brennan in action. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The highlight, though, was to watch the Hawaii team, with 1st and goal on the Boise State 1, take the snap and run the clock out. Sure, they were already up by twelve and had little risk of losing. Hawaii Coach June Jones could have taken the lower road of running up the score to impress the poll voters, but he did not. He respected Boise State and their coach. So he had the team take the proverbial knee. This was truly a show of good sportsmanship and class on the part of Jones.

Unfortunately, I have yet to see any of the talking heads on the major sports web sites (ESPN, CNN/SI, Sportsline) write about this yet. They are always quick to the trigger to write about the bad things that happen in sports. Hopefully they will write about this.
