Talent Profile - Tim Brant, Play-By-Play Announcer
Athens, GA (Dec 10, 2007) - Tim Brant is a play-by-play announcer for Raycom Sports and ABC Sports. Many years ago when I lived in Washington, DC, he promised to have me out to TPC Avenal for a round of golf. And then I moved South. Such is the way of life. This is his profile as published by Raycom Sports.
When he's not handling play-by-play duties for RAYCOM SPORTS®/RAYCOM SPORTS® ACC broadcasts, Tim Brant can be seen on ABC Sports in a variety of roles. Before rejoining ABC, Brant called NFL, NBA and NCAA Tournament games for CBS Sports from 1987-91. He also served as host for the Tour de France.
He spent the previous four years at ABC, where he covered college football with Keith Jackson and worked the 1984 Winter and Summer Olympics, USFL play-by-play and "Wide World of Sports."
Tim, a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he was a defensive captain as a linebacker, started his career in Washington, first as sports director at WMAL Radio and later as sports director of WJLA-TV. Tim became Vice President of Sports for WJLA-TV in January 2004.
