Bobby Clampett is now in his 16th year with CBS Sports. His first assignment for the Network was as a course reporter for the 1991 PGA Championship. He was a regular on the PGA TOUR from 1980 to 1995. In 2000, he played a memorable round of championship golf at the 100th U.S. Open. Clampett qualified as a fourth alternate to play on his home course of Pebble Beach, where he shot a 3-under-par 68 in the first round, three strokes behind the leader and eventual winner, Tiger Woods. He earned more than $1 million during his career on the PGA TOUR, with his best finish coming in 1981, when he was 14th in earnings.
Clampett was a three-time First-Team All-America (1978-80) and two-time collegiate Golfer of the Year at Brigham Young University. He was born April 22, 1960, in Monterey, Calif. He now lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife, Marianna, and has three children.
