Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Arlington, Va., Steve Buckhantz has spent almost his entire career in his hometown, compiling nearly 30 years of broadcasting experience. He has been the play-by-play announcer for the Washington Wizards on Comcast SportsNet for the past ten seasons and was honored for his work in 2003 with a Capital Region Emmy Award. Prior to joining Comcast SportsNet, Buckhantz was an Emmy Award winning sports director and sports anchor for Washington, D.C.'s WTTG-TV. A graduate of James Madison University, he was honored in 1996 with the University's Distinguished Alumni Award. Buckhantz has also hosted the Steve Buckhantz/St. Jude Celebrity Golf Classic for the past 12 years.
