Sun Sports Had a Different Calendar Than Me

Athens, GA (Feb 26, 2008) - Earlier today, Eye on Sports Media was researching who would be the on-site Sun Sports talent for tomorrow night's men's basketball game between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia. Well, I did a double take when the lead story on the Sun Sports site said that the game would be broadcast on a tape-delay basis Thursday night:

It was not the fact that it was being tape delayed. That was expected because of the way the TV contracts are structured. It was the fact that I am booked to work the broadcast WEDNESDAY night for CSS/Comcast (which is also tape delayed).

Seeing the error, EOSM sent a quick email to our contact at FSN Florida/Sun Sports. The response came quickly:

Thanks for the heads up on the website – marketing can correct the date right away.

And true to their word, the site was corrected within 15 minutes. That is great customer service that hopefully gets them eyeballs in front of the tube on the correct night.

That being said, tomorrow will be very interesting. The broadcast table with have two radio crews (home and away), a CSS/Comcast Crew and Sun Sports Crew with four people each (plus their monitors and equipment), and there will be two official stats people at the scorers table. So I do not know if I will even have room for my laptop to do any sort of live blogging or even semi-live blogging.
