Something You May Not Have Heard About John Madden Last Week

Athens, GA (Feb 4, 2009) - John Madden, whether you love him or hate him, is a legend as both a coach and as a television analyst. He is a blue collar, "let me hang out with the boys" kind of guy that people love to work around. Sure he has his quirks, and he likes things to be "just so", but don't we all to one extent or another?

But he is all about the people he works with and around. To this end, there was a private party held for the the NBC Sports Sunday Night Football crew in Tampa. There was an ice sculpture or two (see left), food, and drink. There was also a band providing entertainment. At one point, Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band got on stage and joined the band for a few songs.

And who paid for this little get together out of his own pocket? John Madden.

Now that is a man to work with!
