Yankees Forget That They Need Television Cameras

This has got to be one of the more bizarre stories in broadcast television history. Of course it has to involve the New York Yankees, their new stadium with a reported 1,000 obstructed view seats, and an overzealous security guard.

Apparently the guard did not like the location of the camera, which had been approved by the Yankees. So she ordered the cameraman to move his camera immediately, during the live broadcast of the game. When he would not comply, she sat right in front of the camera to block it from being used. According to the individual who posted the video, anyone who was listening to the director and producer on the PL (headset) would have had their "ears melted off."

As this happened during the 7th inning, it gives new meaning to the 7th inning stretch.

If you are one of my Facebook friends, you can see this video on my profile. It was originally posted on YouTube but removed by the poster at the request of the YES Network.

The cameraman in question was working for COMCAST Bay Area, who produce the Oakland A's television broadcasts.
