John Feinstein: AP Voters of the (BCS) World, Unite and Revolt!
John Feinstein, writer, blogger, radio play-by-play for Navy football, and close friend of Bobby Knight, appeared on National Public Radio (NPR) Morning Edition today. It was his annual call-in to talk about the BCS title game, the fact that NCAA Division 1A (aka FBS) is the only sport in the world where the champion is not decided on the field, yadda yadda yadda.
During the interview, he issued a clarion call to the writers who vote in the AP poll. He said since they are not obliged to vote for the winners of tonight's game between Alabama (13-0) and Texas (13-0), they should unite, and no matter who wins, vote Boise State as the national champion.
Like that might happen.
But who are the voters in the AP Poll for 2009-2010? Here is the list. It is unclear what happens to the vote of Barker Davis from The Washington Times since their sports section is no more. You will also notice Kirk Herbstreit on this list twice. This is because he is listed as being from ESPN AND WBNS-AM in Columbus, OH. But he does only get one vote.
