Asian Television Network (Canada) Broadcast Assignments for 2010 Vancouver Games

The Asian Television Network (ATN), Canada’s largest South Asian broadcaster, has convened a seven-member broadcast team to deliver 107 hours of live Games coverage in six languages across seven channels.

“ATN is delighted to make history by broadcasting the Olympic Games in six South Asian languages on seven of our Canadian channels. The energy level among our broadcast team and their willingness to learn and perform has been commendable,” said Shan Chandrasekar, President and CEO of ATN.

Bangla

Suman Rahman (Host, Snowboard and Luge)

Suman Rahman began working at ATN in 2004 and has experience in radio, print and
broadcast media. He has worked in Bangladesh, Japan and Canada.

Gujarati

Dharmesh Tanna (Host, Bobsleigh)

Dharmesh Tanna has five years of experience in general interest television and sports promos.

Hindi

Rajinder Lamba (Host, Alpine Skiing)

Rajinder Lamba is a recent addition to ATN’s Hindi and Punjabi programming team.

Punjabi

Amarjit Sangha (Host, Biathlon and Figure Skating)


Amarjit Sangha is a popular leader in the Punjabi community and has done live broadcasts of
Canada Kabadi Cup (a popular sport from Punjab) on radio and television across Canada.

Rajinder Lamba (Host, Biathlon and Figure Skating)

Rajinder Lamba is a recent addition to ATN’s Hindi and Punjabi programming team.

Tamil

Ratnathurai (Host, Skeleton and Ski Jumping)

A professional journalist from Sri Lanka, Ratnathurai has worked with ATN since 2002.
Ratnathurai was a chief editor of a Daily Tamil Newspaper and now is Senior News Editor for
ATN Jaya TV.

Urdu

Ashfaq Hussain (Host, Freestyle Skiing and Speed Skating)

Ashfaq Hussain is ATN’s most senior producer of Urdu programming and has been associated
with the network since 1980. He is a prominent personality within the South Asian community
with outstanding achievements in the field of broadcasting, event organizing and language and
literature.
