Atlanta, GA (Dec 1, 2007) - Eye On Sports Media had a conversation with a football play-by-play announcer this morning about Bryant Gumbel's performance on the NFL Network:

"It is embarrassing. He is so bad that he makes me look like the best play-by-play man in the business. It is sad because he is probably the best interviewer in the business, and his show on HBO (Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel) is far and away the best sports show on all of television. I just don't understand why he is doing it."

His latter observation is very important. Real Sports is a class show. Does Gumbel's performance on the NFL Network in any way hurt his credibility on that show?
