NBC North Dakota Sports to Broadcast Marauders Basketball at Northern State
Bismarck, ND (Dec 13, 2007) - When winter hits the Dakotas, there is not much incentive for people to want to get out at night in the cold to see a local college basketball game. And then it is not likely that people will be able to see a couple of small local colleges play against each other on television. Fortunately for them, NBC North Dakota Sports is stepping in to help.
For the second straight year, a University of Mary Marauders men’s and women’s basketball game at Northern State University will be broadcast throughout the Dakotas and into Montana and Minnesota. The games, scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2008, will be seen throughout central and western North Dakota and parts on Montana on KFYR-TV in Bismarck, KMOT-TV in Minot, KUMV-TV in Williston, and KQCD-TV in Dickinson. In South Dakota and into Minnesota, the game will be broadcast on KSFY-TV. The women’s game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The men’s game will tip off at 8:00 p.m.
NBC North Dakota Sports will partner with KSFY-TV in South Dakota to produce the event. Viewers from Williston, ND, to Worthington, MN, will be able to watch the production. Last year’s Marauders-Wolves games marked the first time University of Mary basketball was televised.
It may not be like the Georgetown against Syracuse games of old, or Louisville against Kentucky. But it is their teams and the will get to be on television.
