IMG_2692Athens, GA (Aug 30, 2008) - Shorty after the completion of the University of Georgia Dawg Walk this morning, Eye on Sports Media caught up with UGA Athletics Director Damon Evans. As part of the new SEC contract with ESPN calls for Thursday night broadcasts of SEC games, we wanted to know if UGA would play ball with this. Evans' response was simple and to the point. "As long as I am athletics director here, there will be NO Thursday night games," said Evans.

And rightly so. Being one of the few true on-campus stadiums, Georgia would have to shut the school down to accomodate fans, as well as cripple all traffic in and out of the city of Athens. This would not go over well with University President Michael Adams, who feels that academics is the school's priority. But with $15 Million+ a year puring into the atheltic department coffers under this new deal, how long will they be able to hold out?
