CBSSports.com Announces Date For Web Address Cutover

Athens, GA (Nov 24, 2008) - In our article entitled Does It Matter That CBSSports.com Does Not Really Exist?, we quoted Patrick Herde, CBSSports.com Vice-President of Marketing and Product Management, as saying that the elimination of the sportsline domain name and switchover to cbssports.com would occur sometime in January 2009. There is now an official date: January 13, 2009

On January 13, CBSSports.com is officially changing the Web address www.sportsline.com to www.cbssports.com. As a result, you may be required to login to the site on or after January 13. It's therefore important that you make note of or update your account information in advance of January 13 change - most importantly, your CBSSports.com ID, password and email address.

Unlike analog televisions that will stop working on February 19, 2009, any sportsline.com bookmarks that you may have will, if all goes according to cbssports.com plans, seamlessly redirect to the cbssports.com domain.
