Former CBS Sports host Pat O'Brien shared these thoughts about Brookshier with Eye on Sports Media a few minutes ago:
I was blessed to have worked with Tom and Pat Summerall in my early days at CBS. To say the least, Brookie lived life to its fullest and along the way, entertained all of us and every football fan. He loved his work...loved football...and loved being Tom Brookshier.

We did, however, work together on one of the worst broadcasts in the History of Sports TV: The Calgary Stampede. It was a disaster from the first second to the end. When we got on the plane...we sent the producer a drink with the note: "Don't worry, you're only as good as your last show."

I loved him. Throw the mold away.

RIP Mr. Brookshier.
