BREAKING: Tiger Woods To Upstage Accenture Match Play Championship With Public Statement
Tiger Woods is not playing in this week's Accenture Match Play Championship, but he is stealing the spotlight from the event and from the title sponsor. ESPN has just reported that a press conference meeting has been called for Friday, February 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM ET at PGA Tour Headquarters in Sawgrass, Florida. Woods will reportedly make a statement to apologize, and discuss his past and future.
Interestingly, ESPN's Jason Sobel is reporting what I suggested back on December 17, 2009: Tiger Woods may indeed have been suspended by the PGA Tour.
Media will be "limited" according to ESPN. Even so, this press conference public statement will definitely upstage and cast a huge shadow over this weeks tournament and Accenture, which dumped his endorsement deal when the scandal break.
