The players are complaining about the weather and conditions for tonight's Chicago Bears - Minnesota Vikings game on ESPN Monday Night Football?  What wimps!  The wind chill is only going to be -1.  When the Vikings played their last game at the Met (Metropolitan Stadium) on December 20, 1981, the wind chill was -8, and there was snow on the ground. Television Producer John Faratzis did not mind the weather though.

"I actually produced the last outdoor game at the Met in Minnesota," said Faratzis (pictured left) on Facebook today.  "I grew up in and went to school at Syracuse, and at that time I was only a year or two out of Syracuse, so the cold did not impact me that much."

"There was snow piled in the endzones. I think Vikes were out of playoff contention but the crowd still showed on a cold day to say goodbye to the stadium.

A lot has changed since that day. Unlike the caravan and cast of millions ESPN will have at tonight's game, "We had maybe "five cameras and three tape machines at that 1981 game," Faratzis added.

Ah, the good old days!
