Talent Profile: Rick Pizzo, Studio Host, Big Ten Network

Athens, GA (Dec 7, 2007) - Rick Pizzo is studio host for The Big Ten Network. This is his profile as published by The Big Ten Network.

Rick Pizzo is one of the original studio hosts for the Big Ten Network. Pizzo anchors BIG TEN TONIGHT and hosts the network show BIG TEN EXTRA POINTS. He also serves as a sideline reporter on selected Big Ten Network football telecasts and play-by-play announcer for hockey telecasts.

Pizzo came to the Big Ten Network after six years at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C. and three years at WBTW in Myrtle Beach, S.C. While in Greensboro, Pizzo was named an Associated Press Award-winning sports reporter/anchor and taught sports broadcasting classes at Elon (NC) University.

Pizzo has covered two Super Bowls, two Stanley Cup finals, three NCAA Final Fours, The Masters, U.S. Open and countless NASCAR races.

A Vermont native and graduate of Hamilton College, Pizzo, his wife, Susie, and son, Nicholas, reside in Deerfield, Ill.
